Hi Friends! We are having our annual holiday open house tomorrow (Dec. 19th 2015) from 11 am to 3 pm! Yes, we said tomorrow…the holidays are busy and we are just now getting around to sending out an invite! Come try letterpress and felting and have a treat. Summer is here and it’s time for our kid’s art and sewing classes! We have lots of fun projects planned and can’t wait to get creating! We’ve come up with lots of new projects so even if you took one last year you will learn something new!

Summer is here and our Winnie’s Workshop classes are back! We are so excited to offer kid’s art and sewing classes this July and August! We are offering Sewing, Art, Mixed Media + Bookmaking, Drawing + Printmaking (we have two sessions of the printmaking class – one for older kids and one for younger), and everyone’s favorite Felting! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and there are so many fun things to see and do around Midway (sunrise service, plein air paintings, cowboy museum, historic homes, etc.). We thought we’d get in on the fun and open up our studio for a few hours. We’d love for you to stop by!
In April we had an awesome Bookmaking Fun! kid’s workshop. Each child learned a bunch of fun folds and some simple ways to sew up a book. Personalizing and decorating the book covers was definitely the highlight of the day! I’m sad we were so busy playing that we didn’t get many pictures of the finished products.

In March we were able to host a felted doll birthday party. Each girl was able to stuff and then decorate their doll. They learned how to needle felt wool roving to create their own unique doll! They made clothes from fabric scraps and tulle and had a blast giving their dolls fun accessories – sequin belts and headbands, purses, flowers, buttons, bracelets etc. We were cracking up at all the outfits!
We had a great time teaching this cute group of girls how to make felted purses! This intro to felting class covered the basics of needle felting and the girls got to raid Nancy’s stash of upcycled wool sweaters and wool roving. She even taught them her favorite trick – how to twist wool yarn into a perfect purse strap! We loved seeing all the fun designs and each gal got to take home a one-of-a-kind purse!

We had a great time at our first Letterpress Workshop in February! It was a snowy day and it was nice to be cozy in the studio chatting and printing! Each participant learned the basics of letterpress and printed 25 thank you cards on our vandercook printing press. They also learned how to line envelopes and had fun choosing from a variety of patterned paper and envelopes.
